Radio, motor vehicle tax challenged in LHC

Levy of radio and motor vehicle tax has been challenged before the Lahore High Court. The petitioner, a bar member, Mian Asif, contended that the government instead of giving relief to the masses putting burden of taxes on the poor people.
He said that government already receiving taxes on these items and hence another tax could not be imposed on these articles. He, therefore, prayed to the court to declare the levy of radio and motor vehicle taxes as illegal and imposed without lawful authority.
