Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the record of lands would be maintained in a most transparent and an organised manner through computerisation of revenue records. He was presiding over a meeting regarding land record management and information system at Chief Minister's Secretariat on Saturday.
The meeting reviewed the progress of land record computerisation project. Project Director of land record management and information system gave a briefing to the meeting about the project. He said that it would be a paradigm shift in revenue matters, which would greatly benefit the people. He said that people would get rid of corrupt mafia due to computerisation of land record. In this way people would also get relief from litigation of years together, he added.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz said that the project of land record computerisation was of great importance. He said that the record of the land would be preserved in a transparent manner due to this project. He said that the common man would benefit from this project and it would be helpful in getting the ownership deed "Fard-e-Malkiyat" and registration of transfer deed. Similarly, the people would also get rid of fake registration of properties.
He said that the credit of launching land record management and information system goes to Pakistan Muslim League-N which had started the project of Land Record Computerisation in 1998. The chief minister disclosed that 89 Assistant Directors Land Record were being recruited through Punjab Public Service Commission for land record management and information system.
He said that Management and Professional Development Department would provide training of various matters to these officers. He said that these officers would be imparted training of various professional matters and preserving the revenue record through modern methods during four months training so that they could serve the people in a better way.
