HONG KONG: Hong Kong and mainland stocks opened lower Tuesday in line with a broader retreat across global markets, as investors took profits following recent rallies.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.36 percent, or 119.82 points, to 32,847.07.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index meanwhile lost 0.33 percent, or 11.50 points, to 3,511.50, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.27 percent, or 5.09 points, to 1,914.71.
