Hand grenade hurled at MQM camp

Tension prevailed in several parts of the Mominabad as unidentified armed men hurled hand grenade at the camp of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday. According to DSP Tariq Malik, the MQM workers who were sitting in the camp set up as part of membership campaign, remained unhurt in the attack after the pin of the hand grenade did not detach.
Following the incident, heavy contingent of police, officials of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and other intelligence agencies rushed to the spot. He said the hand grenade was handed over to BDS staff for forensic examination. No case was registered till filing of this report.
