Speakers at a function here on Friday called for making concerted efforts aimed at improving the reproductive health indicators of Pakistan. They observed that without a cohesive strategy, including economic, health and environmental indicators, Pakistan's present situation will not improve.
Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan, a non-profit organisation, has launched a new project titled "Our World" - Women Leadership in Reproductive and Health (WLRDH), in collaboration with the David & Lucile Packard Foundation. The function was organised by the LEAD Pakistan here at Kinnaird College with the objective to provide a conceptual grounding that Reproductive Health (RH) is an integral component in the achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as well as improving indicators for economy and population.
Among the notable speakers present were Syed Babar Ali, renowned Philanthropist and Advisor to Packages Limited, Shams Kassim Lakha, former Chancellor of Agha Khan University, Adil Najam, Vice Chancellor of Lahore University of Management Sciences, Dr Yasmeen Qazi, Country Advisor of David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Dr Nighat Khan, Vice Principal of Kinnaird College and Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, CEO of LEAD Pakistan.
