Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister urges institutions to respect parliament
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that it was mandatory for all institutions to respect parliament as supreme body under the constitution. Speaking at the inauguration of development scheme in his constituency in district Nowshera on Friday, he said that all political forces should be united to cope with the prevailing situation.
"We have respect for military and judiciary," he said. He further said that the military forces had played a vital role in war against terrorism and extended its service in any disastrous situation in the country. He maintained that military leadership also acknowledged parliament as supreme organ of the state and backed democracy. He said that the government was strongly supported such professional discipline, whereas the judiciary is also independent and free in their decisions. "We will follow and implement all decision of superior judiciary in letter and spirit," he said.
Lauding the role of media, he said the media was much independent and playing impartial role to present any positive and negative development in the country. Regarding the prevailing situation, he said the senate election would be held under the scheduled and government will complete its five-year constitutional period.
