More than 100 nomination forms of Senate election have been issued by the Office of Provincial Election Commissioner while, the Returning officer would place public notice for inviting the nomination papers on Saturday (today).
An official of the Office of Provincial Election Comm-issioner told Business Recorder that more than 100 nomination forms have been issued by the concerned official, while, this process would continue till the last date of submission of nomination papers, ie February 14.
He said that process of Senate election would be started from Saturday (today). He mentioned that candidates would file their nomination papers with Returning Officer on February 13 and 14, and the scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on February 16 and 17.
He said that completing all necessary stages including filing of appeals against rejection of nominations, disposal of appeals by Election Commission, last date of withdrawal and publishing of list of contesting candidates, the polling would be held on March 02, 2012. He further told that fifty members of the Senate, including 11 from Sindh would be retired on March 11, and the Sindh Assembly like other provincial assemblies would elect 11 Senators on March 02, 2012.
