A spokesman of Efroze Chemical Industries (Pvt) Ltd has stated that the company management deeply regretted the tragedy that had befallen those who had been treated at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology over the past weeks. According to a press release issued here on Friday.
He said the company management has extended its full co-operation and support to the Federal and Punjab governments in investigating and analysing the particular batch of Isotab tablets that is alleged to have caused the deaths. He said that while possibility of sabotage could not be ruled out since there was likelihood of removal of the original label from the consignment in question, the company was carrying out thorough investigations at its own end to identify how the allegedly spurious batch managed to cross the company's already stringent internal Quality Control checks.
The spokesman emphasised that Efroze Chemicals Industries was a ISO-17025-certified company with one of the most modern and well-equipped quality control laboratories in the country to ensure that all its products are pure, safe and effective and pass stringent tests as per international guidelines before entering the market.
He said Efroze is also a leading exporter of pharmaceutical products which are in great demand in some 20 countries in Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and the Far East, particularly Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Hong Kong, etc. However, the ongoing disinformation campaign against the company was causing immense loss to the country's export earnings and was seriously impacting Pakistan's overall pharma export outlook as well as its good reputation around the globe as an exporter of quality medicines.-PR
