Education lovers, teachers, students, employees of the University of Sindh and a large number of people from different walks of life on Friday staged a huge rally in the university campus under title 'Save Education Save University' in favour of Vice Chancellor for regularisation and promotions of 282 employee and against stopping of the academic activities by a group of teachers in the university.
The rally started from Institute of Sindhology at main road of the campus and was ended at the Academic Block of the university. The rally participants Muhammad Qasim Maka, Tasleem Mirza, Abdul Rasool Leghari, Nizakat Gopang, Ghulam Nabi Kaka fully supported Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir Ahmed Mughal.
The rally participants also raised slogans in favour of the VC and against the teachers who have stopped the academic activities. They lauded efforts of the VC Dr Nazir Ahmed Mughal and said that agitating group of teachers who is opposing the vice chancellor have always given loss to the university and education with their non academic activities.
They said that if the teachers are true with the cause of education then why they draw salary of January even they did not take single class during the month of January and not performed their duties. They said that the society has appealed and requested from time to time to the teachers to take classes but a group of teachers due to their personnel enemy have given loss to the education. They appealed to the teachers to resume classes immediately to avoid further loss of education to the students.
