Pakistan participated in the world's largest three-day trade fair of fresh fruits and vegetables, 'Logistica 2012', which ended on Friday in Berlin. The fair ended on positive note for the Pakistani exhibitors who expressed satisfaction over business contacts they established for Pakistani products.
Pakistan had been participating in the annual event for the last 10 years and growth in Pakistani products export had significantly been increased over the years. German State Secretary for Foods, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection Dr Gerd Mueller visited Pakistan pavilion and talked to Pakistani exhibitors about their products and marketing strategy to introduce these in the European Market.
Pakistan Ambassador in Berlin, Dr Mazhar Javed along with the commercial Counsellor Vaqar Khilji briefed German secretary food about the quality and nutrition value of the Pakistani agri-products. He was informed that with introduction of latest technologies in the fruit and vegetable processing, exports were expected to grow significantly in future as it would increase shelf life of the products as well introduce value-added products of Pakistani fruits.
Around 2,537 exhibitors from 84 countries showcased complete range of products and services for all stages of production and trade of fresh fruit and vegetables. More than 56,000 traders and decision makers of agri-sector visited the fair.
