Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) has announced payment of scholarships and cash prizes to children of journalists on getting distinctions in annual examinations of 2012. Similarly, members will also give awards on good reporting, photography, audio and video reports.
The meeting of the KhUJ was held here with President, Arshad Aziz Malik in the chair. The meeting was attended by all cabinet and executive members of the union. The maiden meeting of the recently elected office bearers constituted various committees. The election was constituted with senior journalist, Wasim Ahmad Shah as its Chairman. Other members are included Shahid Hameed, Tauseef Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad.
Abdul Hakeem Mohmand will head welfare committee with other members included Mohammad Naeem, Asif Shehzad, Alamgir Khan, Jehangir Shehzad, Javed Aziz, Alamzeb Mohammadzai, Shehzad Anjum and Raza Prince. The education committee will be headed by Faridullah Khan with members Imran Bokhari, Sabtain Bokhari, Mehmood Khattak and Arif Qureshi.
Similarly, the sports and culture committee will be headed by Musarratullah with members included Mohammad Naeem, Asif Shehzad, Omar Qayyum, Sabtain Bokhari, Amjad Hadi, Ihtisham Bashir and Ihtisham Toru. The General Secretary, Ali Hazrat Bacha will head scrutiny committee with Abdul Hakeem Mohmand, Musarratullah, Mohammad Naeem, Alamgir Khan, Mehmood Khattak, Shahabuddin and Raza Prince as members. The magazine committee will be headed by President, Arshad Aziz Malik, while Mehmood Khattak and Baqir Mausvi will assist him.
