Sindh University agitating teachers asked to resume classes

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr Nazir Ahmed Mughal has said that his doors are open for negotiations with agitating teachers and appealed them to resume the classes immediately to avoid further loss of students. He was speaking at a ceremony of distribution of regularisation and promotion orders among contractual and permanent employees of the university at the Senate hall, here on Thursday.
The vice chancellor has regularised 252 contractual employees, promoted 11 employees under technical scheme in various grades and upgraded 10 others from BPS 14 to BPS-16. Dr Mughal congratulated the employees and said that the Sindh University could become number one institution in Asia if everyone played his/her due role.
He said that a silent majority of senior teachers of the university while realising their responsibilities wished to run the academic activities in smooth way but a group of teachers was forcibly suspending classes. The vice chancellor said doors of his office were open for the dialogue and assured the teachers that all their demands would be accepted.
He said that protest under the norms was right of everyone but it should not at the cost of students' future. He pointed out that beside the appeals of the society, one hundred girl students on other day appealed the agitating teachers to end their boycott but they did not responded to their request.
