Pakistan had successful participation at 'Heimtextile' event with a total of 223 exhibitors displaying bed sheets, towels, curtains and kitchen linen. Trade Develop-ment Authority of Pakistan organised a pavilion on the occasion with 45 exhibitors. Heimtextile is the world largest home textile fair with 2,634 exciters from 61 countries. In total, 70,000 visitors came from all over the world.
There was an increase of vistas from Middle East, Turkey, Far East and Russian Federation. Despite the prevailing economic uncertainties, positive signals were observed from both the visitors and exhibitors. Mustafa Gohar of Gohar Textile was highly satisfied from the results of the fair, while Asif Abdullah, of Nishat Group of Lahore was more than happy with the results.
Expressing his views, Omer Salahuddin from Messe Frankfurt Pakistan said several exhibitors want to increase the size of the stall for the next Heimtextile 2013. This is besides the waiting list that already exists. IFH retail consultants are forecasting an average household expenditure of Euro 242, which is Euro 20 or eight present more. By comparison, household expenditures on entertainment electronics are only Euro 214 only with no further growth expected in 2012.-PR
