Registration of murder cases: petitioner asked to file separate plea
The Lahore High Court here on Thursday directed petitioner to file a separate petition annexing the labour ministry and others seeking registration of murder cases against the responsible of a deadly blast in a Multan Road medicine factory.
The petitioner, Chairman Judicial Activism Panel, Muhammad Azhar Siddique said National Disaster Management Authority had miserably failed to show its performance. He said the government had no mechanism to check functioning of medicine or other factories in residential areas. Moreover, there was no system to check violation of labour and building laws by factories owners, he added.
Petitioner prayed that government be directed to procure a complete list of factories established in the province for manufacturing of drugs in view of the licenses granted under Drug Act, 1976 and also those factories who were illegally manufacturing the drugs. He further prayed to the court to direct the respondent authorities to register criminal case against the owner of factory and personnel directly concerned in the government departments.
