It is the classical example of digesting the government property that former Executive District Officer (EDO) education Thatta has taken the CNG kit from government's car and placed it in his personal car at the time of leaving the post.
Well-informed sources in education department told Business Recorder here on Friday that current EDO Education Thatta Ghulam Asghar Memon informed the authorities of the department that a former EDO Bashir Ahmed Shaikh had stolen the CNG kit of government car GL-4585. It was allotted to him during his posting in Thatta.
After the approval of action from the authorities Memon wrote a letter No EDO (EDU) TA/Estt/35 to Bashir Ahmed Shaikh. It is stated in the letter: It is reported that at the time of relieving from the post of EDO Thatta, you had taken the CNG kit from the office Car GL-4585 that was allotted to you during the period of EDOship.
You are requested to return the CNG kit to the office at your earliest possible, letter asked. Copies of said letter were forwarded to Secretary Education and Literacy, Deputy Commissioner Thatta and Regional Directorate Colleges Karachi for information and necessary action, according to letter. It may be noted here that Bashir Ahmed Shaikh is currently working on the post of Additional Director (HR) Regional Directorate Colleges Karachi.
When contacted, Bashir Ahmed Shaikh told Business Recorder that he had received such letter but he had not taken the CNG kit from the official Car. Spokesman of Senior Minister for Education Makhdoom Zafar Lehbar told Business Recorder that he will pass this information to the Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq and necessary action would be taken against Shaikh after the inquiry.
