District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema has said that foolproof security and other arrangements are being done for the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and cleanliness campaign has already been launched on the routes of processions. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here on Friday, in which arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was reviewed.
The organisers of processions, Ulemas and other personalities attended the meeting. The DCO told the participants that patch work on roads leading to routes procession were being completed and streetlights would be arranged on the routes of processions as well.
He said the city would be decorated beautifully on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and decorative walk-through gates would be installed on various spots so that security of participants could be ensured properly.
He said an emergency plan was being prepared to drain water in case of rainfall. He assured the participants that all arrangements would be foolproof and officers of CDGL would be present on the spot as well. On the occasion, the participants presented various proposals for further improving the arrangements in this regard. Meanwhile in a meeting, the DCO said positive changes would be introduced for further improving the Fort Road Food Street; the CDGL will work jointly with all concerned departments and society as well in this regard. "The food street is a new attraction for the Lahorites and response of people is amazing," he added.
In the meeting, it was decided that parking fee would be charged at Rs 20 per vehicle and strict legal action would be taken in case of overcharging of parking fee. The DCO said administrative committee would soon be set up, which would look-after all the matters. He also directed the concerned officers to keep the food street neat and clean and provide maximum facilities for visitors.
