Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 83,903 tonnes of cargo comprising 45,919 tonnes of import cargo and 37,984 tonnes of export cargo including 5,129 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 45,919 tonnes comprised of 21,697 tonnes of containerised cargo; 222 tonnes of general cargo and 24,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,984 tonnes comprised of 28,454 tonnes of containerised cargo; 374 tonnes of general cargo; 5,956 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,456 tonnes of cement; 4,500 tonnes of rice and 3,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Al-Mirqab, Hyundai General, Northern Valence, MOL Wind and Chemway Gala with four container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz STX Patraikos, Pardis, MT Quetta, Chem World and Chemroad Journey with two container ships and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely STX Patraikos and MT Quetta with one container ship and one crude oil tanker sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while another ship namely Pardis with one container ship is expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessels viz President Jackson, Emirates Star and Conti Express with one container ship, one mogas carrier and one steel ship respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz Talassa, APL Brisbane, Golden Denise, Zuma, Navig8 Loucas and Western Cruiser with two container ships, one ethanol carrier, one LSF oil tanker, one jet oil tanker and one rice carrier are respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 42,661 tonnes of only import cargo was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 42,661 tonnes includes 37,430 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,667 tonnes of edible oil and 1,564 tonnes of chemicals. A diesel oil tanker namely MV Leader sailed out to sea on Tuesday at 12.00 noon.
A total number of three vessels Golden Ambrosia, Leader and Chemroad Haya are currently occupying berths to load/offload chemicals, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. As many as four ships namely Maersk Kolkata, Najran, MT Karachi and Al-Barella with containers, furnace oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of three vessels viz CV Maersk Kolkata, CV Najran and MT Al-Barella carrying containers and rice are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) respectively on Tuesday.
