An alleged robber was beaten to death by an angry mob while another accomplice sustained severe injuries in the New Karachi Industrial Area on Saturday. According to police, the incident took place at Sector 5-E near Nala Stop in New Karachi where at least two robbers were caught by enraged mob when they were busy in looting the passers-by. The mob started beating the robbers and even threw them into Nullah.
Meanwhile, one of them lost his live while another was found in critical condition. The body and the injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced that the deceased died due to severe torture while the condition of injured was critical. SP Chaudhry Asad Ali said the police did not find any weapon from alleged bandits and suspected that their weapons might have been missed when they were being beaten by the mob. He said the cases for law violation would also be registered against the mob but the police was presently busy in other legal formalities. Later, the body was taken to the Edhi morgue for identification.
