Cold and dry weather forecast

The Met Office on Tuesday forecast mainly cold and dry weather in the country in the next 24 hours. However, it says isolated rain with snowfall over the hills of Balochistan is expected Tuesday night and at few parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Foggy condition is likely in some plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Sukkur Division in the forecast period.
"A shallow western disturbance is affecting northern parts of the country," the office says in its daily weather summary. It says mainly cold and dry weather is expected to persist in most parts of the country in the next 48 hours, adding that "However more rain with snowfall over the hills may occur in Malakand Division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir." In the last 24 hours, the office recorded scattered rain with snowfall over the hills of Balochistan, and isolated in Malakand Division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Skardu and Kalam as minus 15 degree centigrade, Parachanar and Skardu minus 12 degree centigrade each, Hunza minus 10 degree centigrade, Dir and Astore minus 9 degree centigrade, Gupis minus 8 degree centigrade, Quetta, Rawalakot and Gilgit minus 6 degree centigrade during the past.
It says Malamjabba received four and Kalam two inches of snow. Ormara received 15 mm rain, Kalat, 6 mm, Muzaffarabad and Khuzdar 5 mm each, Pattan 4 mm, Dalbandin, Jiwani, Nokundi and Kakul 2 mm, respectively. Karachi's weather in the past remained cloudy with drizzles as minimum temperature was recorded 12 degree centigrade and maximum 23 degree centigrade. The coastal city is expected to remain dry with minimum temperature ranging between 10 degree centigrade and 12 degree centigrade in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said.
