Jamaat-e-Islami leader Asad Ullah Bhutto declared on Tuesday that the Jamaat would fully participate in the coming elections, and had started preparations in this connection. "We're in contact with other religious and political parties. Talks are underway and the decision to make alliance or seat-to-seat adjustment will be taken at appropriate time," he said while talking to the media persons here at local JI office.
He claimed that the JI would get the country rid of electricity, gas, water and unemployment crises after coming into power. He added that the JI government would decrease gas and electricity tariffs by 50 per cent, eliminate unjust taxes from the bills, provide land to the homeless citizens for construction of homes and provide interest-free loans to them.
He claimed that federal and provincial governments had completely failed to maintain law and order in Karachi as people are left at the mercy of target killers, extortionists, kidnappers and dacoits.
He added that the Sindh government had failed to protect the lives and property of people in urban as well as rural areas. He said that Balochistan was also burning in the fire of lawlessness but the rulers were least concerned about this serious issue. He warned that the workers of the JI would encircle parliament and block all routes if the government restored Nato supply.
Despite the fact that Nato soldiers were killing Muslims and Pakistanis, the rulers facilitated them, which was a national crime, he added. He said that the release of Raymond Davis, Memogate scandal and contempt of Supreme Court were the biggest crimes of the current government and the rulers would be held accountable for these offences very soon. He warned that the country would face further anarchy if the government failed to implement court decisions. He asked the government to give up stubbornness and accept court decisions on NRO and other issues.
