Resolution not unanimous: MQM

Senator Tahir Mashhadi of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has disputed media reports that Senate passed a unanimous resolution demanding that former military dictator Pervez Musharraf be tried for treason under Article 6 of the constitution, a private TV channel reported.
Talking to the channel, the senator said that Pakistan People's Party senator Mia Raza Rabbani tabled the resolution at the eleventh hour. Therefore, voting was not held on the resolution. He said that Chairman Senate had decided to present the resolution for debate in the next Senate session. He further said that the signatures of MQM senators were not obtained on the resolution, adding that MQM would table a different stance on the resolution.
