CCoR directed to expedite restructuring of Discos

A meeting of Cabinet Committee on Restructuring (CCoR) held here on Wednesday with Federal Minster for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair to discuss the reforms in power sector. The CCoR informed the minister about the implementation status of the restructuring plan of Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
The minister directed CCoR to expedite the restructuring process to streamline the functioning of DISCOs. The committee discussed the status of pending cases in court regarding tariff increase and fuel adjustment. Tariff regulation by National Electric Power Regulation Authority (Nepra) was deliberated in the meeting.-PR
