Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that PPP is trying to use parliament for its war against institutions, which they would never allow to succeed. In a statement here on Sunday, the CM said the ruling group is asking for trouble by adopting the way of confrontation with national institutions like Army and judiciary.
He said that the statement of Prime Minister against Pak Army is the part of the same campaign of People's Party's leadership. "I honestly believe that this extremely irresponsible and condemnable statement has been issued on the behest of President Zardari and this statement is nothing except endorsement of such recent steps and statements of President Zardari.
He demanded that Prime Minister, Gilani instead of submitting explanations of this statement should withdraw it and apologise to the people of Pakistan. CM in the statement adding put that so far as the democracy and its future was concerned, leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N and its workers had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for it.
Shahbaz, in a statement, further said that they believed that dictators who toppled the democratic government not only ruined the country but also undermined the repute and professional abilities of Pak Army. 'But due to misdeeds of few adventurists, they would not allow anyone to ridicule Pak Army, its unprecedented sacrifices for the motherland and demoralise it', he added.
He said time had come that the nation should stand up against the rulers to stop them, who were bent upon the destruction of institutions in the name of survival of democracy, he pointed. Concluding, he said that they believed that the future of democracy could not be guaranteed by weakening the institutions, being backbone for any democratic society.
