Munawar Hassan (The News), Sibghatullah Chaudhry (Daily Pakistan) and Rana Fawwad (Dawn News) were elected unopposed as President, Vice-President and General Secretary respectively in annual elections of the Agriculture Journalists Association (AJA) for the year 2012 held here the other day.
Elections were supervised by Mansoor Ahmad, a senior journalist, as Election Commissioner. Imran Adnan (Pakistan Today) was elected as Treasurer while Shahram Haq, Saeed Mughal and Javed Hashmi were also elected unopposed as members of the Executive Committee.
Members of the Association on this occasion in recognition of services rendered by senior journalist Muhammad Amin Fakhir (Fakhir Malik) elected him as patron-in-chief of the Association. Meanwhile the Punjab Agriculture Minister Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Secretary Agriculture Arif Nadeem, Agri Forum Pakistan Chairman Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal, Kisan Board Pakistan President Sardar Zafar Hussein and Secretary Information Haji Muhammad Ramzan and journalists from different newspapers and television channels covering agriculture, livestock and food sector have congratulated the newly elected body of AJA.
In separate messages they expressed hope that new AJA office-bearers would work with full devotion for development of agricultural sector. They also hoped that new office-bearers would also work for capacity building of their fellow colleagues and other members of the Association.
