ICE Canadian canola futures edged higher on Friday on weather worries for Argentina's soyabean crop, and was on course for the most-active month's fourth straight weekly gain. Crushers seen as buyers with crush margins attractive. Most-active March canola futures gained $1.90 to $525.50 a tonne on thin volume of 227 contracts at 8:24 am CST (1424 GMT). The contract month is on pace for a 0.2 percent weekly gain. May added $1.90 to $530.30 on volume of 68 contracts.
Traders see canola up $1 to $2 at Chicago Board of Trade open. CBOT soyabeans called to open up 6 to 8 US cents per bushel on hot, dry weather in Argentina that is trimming crop prospects. MATIF February rapeseed gained 0.4 percent as of 8:20 am CST (1420 GMT). The Canadian dollar was trading early at $1.0204 against the US dollar or 98.00 US cents, down from Thursday's close at $1.0191 against the US dollar, or 98.13 US cents.
