Solo paintings exhibition of fast upcoming artist Erum Ashfaq titled "The Revival of Cultural Heritage" is in progress quite successfully at the Shakir Ali Museum of Pakistan National Council of Arts. Artists, art lovers as well as art collectors are visiting Shakir Ali Museum in pretty good numbers every day to view the artwork who has painted historical heritage of the country on the canvas in a very impressive and realistic manner.
After going around the exhibition, they invariably tell the artist, who has a strong passion for painting since her childhood days, that this was very good and successful attempt on her part to project historical heritage in true colours and moods on the canvases in such a manner which spellbound the onlookers for quite sometime.
On display in the exhibition are more than two dozen paintings depicting old historical buildings of Moghul era of Lahore and Bhera including Shalimar Garden, Masjid Wazir Khan, Haveli Chuna Mandi, Lahore Fort, 'Jharoka' of an abandoned building of Bhera among others.
Erum Ashfaq said on being contacted "I'm very happy and encouraged to see so many people from all walks of life visiting the gallery daily to view my art work duly appreciating the exhibits on display. Their appreciation has given me much confidence to more such creative work with continued dedication and devotion.
This is Erum Ashfaq's second solo show in about one year. She has also participated in some group shows held at different art galleries of the provincial metropolis. This, incidentally, was also the last paintings exhibition which started off in a colourful manner on December 29 of last year 2011 and is continuing in the New Year 2012 till January 15 evening.
