Pakistan Cards: Nadra disburses Rs 9.01 billion to rain-hit families

National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) has so far disbursed Rs 9,009,779,939 through 1,100,216 Pakistan Cards to rain-affected families in Sindh. Chairman Nadra, Ali Arshad Hakeem, stated this while briefing to President Asif Ali Zardari.
While appreciating Nadra's role President said authority should reach every individual affected by rain and facilitate them by using all possible resources available. GM Nadra Sindh Brigadier Zahid Hussain (Retd) added that Nadra has achieved 100 per cent target in Mirpurkhas and issued 139,240 Pakistan cards in this district.
While briefing the president Chairman Nadra informed that 245,253 in Badin, 81,636 in Tando Mohammad Khan, 2,733 in Thatta, 193,014 in Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), 92,168 in Tando Allahyar, 109,336 in Umerkot, 8,610 in Hyderabad, 201,669 in Sanghar, 7,817 in Jamshoro, 7,265 in Matiari, 5,521 in Tharparkar, 5,953 Pakistan Cards in Ghotki have been issued.
He said Nadra established total 96 centres in all 16 affected districts and has issued overall 82 percent Pakistan Cards to affected families. Nadra is now setting up five more distribution centres, as the name of Bank has been received from PDMA; while 53 centres have been shifted after accomplishing tasks to facilitate affected families in other districts.
Nadra has taken another initiative to facilitate scores of affected families about their status for Pakistan Card. An affected family's head could check his/her name in Nadra rain-affected beneficiary list by only sending CNIC number on 9777, while they could also check their names in Pakistan Card sites and Nadra centres in the 16 districts.
Nadra in addition to the establishment of new centres, has also mobilised its mobile resources MRVs (Mobile Registration Vans) to process CNICs free of cost in all affected areas in co-ordination with the public representative and district administrator, he concluded.-PR
