The Jamaat e Islami will organise countrywide protest today (Friday), against the energy crisis, stoppage of gas supply to the industry and unjustified raise in utility bills, on the appeal of the JI Ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan.
Besides JI workers and sympathisers, industrialists, traders, workers, farmers and the youth would join the protest in large numbers. Protest rallies will be held in all divisional and district headquarters and would be addressed by JI leaders and other prominent people.
According to the details, JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch will lead a rally at Gujranwala to be taken out from Kapco office to Sui Gas office. JI Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, will lead the rally at Multan Road, Lahore. In Karachi, the JI Karachi Ameer, Muhammad Husain Mehnati, will lead the rally from Noman mosque to Guru temple, Karachi. The rally at Peshawar will be taken out from Peshawar Chowk. JI deputy chief, Sirajul Haq, will lead. At Quetta, the protest rally will be staged from Meezan Chowk to the local Press Club. Rally at Multan will be taken out from Masoom Shah to Bahadur Chowk. The JI Punjab chief, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, will lead the rally at Bahawalpur. Rallies will also be held at Rawalpidi and Faisalabad.
