Keeping in view the fire-related accidents in Public Service Vehicles (PSV) during the past months, the Ogra devised a task force in collaboration with Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP), Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) to carry out surprise inspections at CNG stations located in Gujranwala, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi to ensure that they were complying with CNG Rules, 1992 and Standard Code of Practice, says Ogra spokesman in a statement issued here on Monday.
During the aforesaid inspections M/s SNGPL was directed to disconnect gas supply to thirteen CNG stations in Gujranwala and twelve CNG stations in Peshawar, which were found in violation of CNG Rules, 1992 / Standard Code of Practice. Moreover, the inspections at Lahore and Karachi region are still in progress results of whom, would be provided after receiving the feed back from Ogra teams.-PR
