LHC admits petition

The Lahore High Court here on Monday admitted a petition for hearing filed against government proposal of giving extension to Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Mujahid Kamran whose tenure has been completed on January 02 (yesterday).
Petitioner Former Dean Faculty of social sciences Dr Mughees-ud-Din Sheikh contended there were reports that government is going to extend the employment tenure of PU Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran and this extension would be violation of Supreme Court earlier orders. Petitioner prayed to the court to issue directions to the government restraining it from giving extension to Mujahid Kamram.
