Punjab university is all set to organise its 120th convocation on Saturday (tomorrow) at Faisal Auditorium, New Campus. A meeting of Punjab University Convocation Co-ordination Committee, headed by Dean Faculty of Science Professor Dr Kh Haris Rashid, held in the Committee Room of Centre for Undergraduate Studies, New Campus on Thursday to finalise arrangements for the convocation.
All convenors of sub-committees of the convocation briefed the meeting about the working of their committee. The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the arrangements made so far. The meeting was informed that the full dress rehearsal of convocation would be held on Friday (today) at 8am in the Faisal Auditorium, New Campus.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, Registrar Professor Dr Muhammad Akhtar, Controller Examinations Professor Dr Liaqat Ali, all deans, Principals, Directors and heads of departments will participate in the full dress rehearsal. The meeting also informed that the participating students and medal winners have been directed to attend the full dress rehearsal on Friday (today) and the convocation on Saturday (today).
They have been further directed to follow the instructions already conveyed to them along with the admit card and must wear the gown both on the full dress rehearsal and convocation days. It is worth mentioning here that 180 undergraduates, 318 masters, 258 M.Phils and 129 Ph.D students would be awarded degrees, while 60 medals to undergraduates and 77 medals to masters students will also be awarded to top position holders.
Punjab University Department of Sports for Women organised a ceremony to inaugurate two vehicles and awarding scholarship to outstanding women sports player, who won All Pakistan Inter-Universities Championships, here in the PU Women Sports Complex on Thursday.
