Nawaz-Fazl meeting on the cards

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif is all set to meet political leaders, including Chief of JUI (F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Syed Munawwar Hasan and Liaquat Balouch and other leaders of like-minded parties in coming days to devise future strategy in the wake of present political situation prevailing in the country.
Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that agenda for meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman is being finalised for which Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is playing a key role. It may be noted that Maulana Fazl had already announced to play his due role to evolve consensus of county's political leadership in a bid to steer the country out of present situation by agreeing on common agenda. Maulana had opposed any role of establishment in the present situation.
The sources claimed that the PML-N President had started hectic political activities and he had called meetings of PML-N Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan general councils meetings on January 2, 4 and 6 in Karachi, Lahore and Quetta respectively to complete elections of provincial chapters of the party.
According to the sources, some important political figures are also going to announce their decisions to join the PML-N in the coming days. When contacted the PML-N Central Information Secretary Senator Mushahidullah Khan told Business Recorder that his party under leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif is striving for rule of law, supremacy of constitution, strengthening of democracy and ensuring country's sovereignty. When asked about the speech of President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, the PML-N leader said:
"There was nothing except disappointment in the speech. It is a matter of shame for the sitting rulers who are in the government for the last four years that they have not been able to catch the killers of Benazir Bhutto." He said that President Asif Ali Zardari's criticism on superior judiciary reflects his hidden fear. The rulers are mere playing blame game and not fulfilling its basic obligations. When asked about president Zardari's announcement regarding entering into trade pacts with countries of their choice, the PML-N leader said the PPP government had already lost four years.
