The Lahore High Court on Tuesday asked Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab to appear before the court on Wednesday (today) in two identical petitions seeking actions against police officials for not complying with the orders issued by subordinate judiciary.
In the first petition, Mohammad Inaam Ali contended that he was working as chief financial officer in Sammi Logistics (pvt) and also was rendering services as country general manager of Daewoo Pakistan Express, sister company of Sammi logistics. He resigned from the office of country general manger, but directors of the company prepared a forged and fabricated document showing that the petitioner resigned from all the offices. He contended that he approached the session court which directed the SHO Gulberg Station and ASP concerned to record the statement of the petitioner and act in accordance with law. However, police officials were not complying with the court orders.
In second petition, Rahmat Masih contended that an additional district and sessions judge had directed the SHO North Cantt police station to register a case against accused persons who stole his property documents. But, police did not act against them.
