Pakistan tells US of 'rage': Hina calls Clinton

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Sunday conveyed to her US counterpart Hillary Clinton and British Foreign Secretary William Hague the 'deep sense of rage' felt across Pakistan over the unprovoked attack by Nato/Isaf that caused loss of 24 soldiers in Mohmand Agency and injuring a dozen.
The Foreign Minister telephoned her US and British counterparts early on Sunday and informed the US government of the decisions made by the Defence Coordination Committee (DCC) of the Cabinet, which met on Saturday evening.
"The Foreign Minister conveyed to the Secretary of State the deep sense of rage felt across Pakistan at the senseless loss of 24 soldiers due to the Nato/Isaf attack on the Pakistani post in Mohmand Agency", said Foreign Office spokesperson.
Foreign Minister Hina stressed that such attacks are totally unacceptable. "They (Nato troops) demonstrate complete disregard for international law and human life, and are in stark violation of Pakistani sovereignty", Khar told Clinton, adding that the attack negated the progress made by the two countries on improving relations, and forced Pakistan to revisit the terms of engagement.
"She informed Secretary Clinton about DCC decisions to stop Nato supply routes and that the US should vacate the Shamsi airbase within 15 days", said the spokesperson.
Secretary of State Clinton condoled with the Foreign Minister about the loss of life. According to Foreign Office, Clinton said that she was deeply saddened by the event and also conveyed the US government's desire to work with Pakistan to resolve this issue. According to diplomatic sources, Secretary Clinton telephoned twice to the Foreign Minister, offered US all possible help to probe the incident in transparent manner.
The Foreign Minister also spoke to British Foreign Secretary William Hague on Saturday night to convey the decisions taken by the Defence Committee of the Cabinet on Saturday evening.
Foreign Minister Khar also informed him of the deep sense of anger prevailing in Pakistan over the unprovoked attacks by Nato/Isaf that have caused many casualties. According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Foreign Secretary Hague expressed sympathy on loss of lives.
