Imparting free and quality education to children of working classes is a priority. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Labour, Amir Nawab Khan, on Friday. He was talking to a visiting delegation of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Workers Welfare Board here in his office.
The minister was of the view that the results of the school run by the Workers' Welfare Board, as good as the so-called elite schools. He was of the view that under the 18th amendment, the Workers Welfare Funds should be transferred to the provinces so that the workers' money should be spent on them.
Amir Nawab Khan maintained that it is his mission to enhance the dignity and status of the working classes and to ensure that the workers should get their due rights. He pointed out that health and residential facilities are being made available to the workers. Labour colonies have been constructed in every city of the province. As many as 250,000 workers have been registered during the past couple of years.
