Chief Secretary Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas, has asked the Secretary Agriculture to evolve strategic measure for provision of fertiliser and seeds to the genuine cultivators of rain/flood affected areas under the 'Rabi Crop Assistance Package'.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the measures for relief and rescue for rain/flood affectees. Chief Secretary said that expeditious arrangements must be made to facilitate the affectees. He asked all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to support the Rehabilitation Department and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in the relief operations.
DCOs have also been advised to extend full co-operation to this effect. Raja Abbas also asked the Finance Department to look into the financial requirements, thereof as per the government policy. The meeting also reviewed the requirements of flood affectees. In view of the existing winter season, Chief Secretary called for distribution of more blankets to the affected families, accordingly 2 lacs 25 thousand more blankets shall be provided to the affected families in accordance with the settled formula.
