National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has recovered four stolen/snatched vehicles and arrested four car lifters, besides recovering a person during last one week. Spokesperson of NH&MP Javed Chaudhry told Business Recorder, police personnel have recovered cars which were stolen from different cities of the country and arrested four car lifters and also recovered a young man who was kidnapped from Hyderabad.
Motorway Police officers DSP Malik Muhammad Aslam, Senior Patrolling Officer Muhammad Younas and Assistant Patrolling Officer Muhammad Riaz were on their routine patrolling on M-2 when a bus driver of Niazi Express informed the NH&MP officers that a white colour Corolla car No IDN-3466 is over speeding and looking suspicious.
On the information, the Motorway Police put on alert all its patrolling officers. After few minutes the NH&MP officers saw the said car parked in the service area of Chakri. In the meantime a man was coming towards the car, when he saw the NH&MP Officers, he tried to run away. However, Motorway Police officers, succeeded in arresting the culprit namely Nasim s/o Ali Muhammad r/o Gujranwala through commando action. During investigation he confessed that the said car has been snatched by him and the driver has been thrown out of the vehicle tide with ropes.
In another incident, Motorway Police officer APO Amjad Afridi was on surprise checking on G.T road Toll Plaza Khenwal, he signalled a suspicious 2.OD car No AHU-714 to stop in which three persons were sitting. When the driver of the car saw the NH&MP officers, he left the car and fled away, but his two companions namely Sharaft Ali and Muhammad Asif r/o Sahiwal were arrested. On search of the car NH&MP officer found a kidnapped man namely Muhammad Javed r/o Hyderabad; he further disclosed that they had kidnapped him and his son Zeshan Ahmed from truck stand, Hyderabad. On further search of the vehicle, one 30 bore pistol, two carbines local made, huge quantity of live rounds, two daggers and one syringe were recovered. 04 mobile phones and cash were also recovered from the culprits.
meanwhile, NH&MP officers PO Yahyah Abrar and JPO Naeem Akhtar were on their routine patrolling in the area of Sheikhupura (M-2) saw a white colour Suzuki van No LEB-8825 model 2008, parked on hard shoulder, which door was opened. In the meantime a man came and tried to fill oil into the van, when he saw the NH&MP officers tried to run away, however they succeeded in arresting the culprit namely Ali Ejaz s/o Muhammad Younas r/o Okara in commando action, who confessed that he stole the said van from Lahore.
Motorway Police was also informed by Rawalpindi Police that a Panther Hiace Van No LED-2462 has been stolen from jurisdiction of Cantt. Police station, Rawapindi and requested for its recovery on which the Motorway Police got alerted all its patrolling officers.
After few minutes the NH&MP officers SPO Zahid Rashid and PO Khalid Kiyani saw the said Hiace van in the area of Lakhori on M-1, which was left by the culprits after they saw the officers of NH&MP and fled away from the scene. Motorway police officers took the vehicle into their safe custody.
The Motorway Police also informed the concerned local police about all these incidents and later on, the Motorway Police handed over the arrested culprits along with the recovered Illegal arms and ammunition and vehicles in the presence of their owners to the concerned police for further legal action. The Inspector General, NH&MP Wajid Ali Durrani has appreciated the performance of the officers and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for them.
