Published Updated

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Sheikh Azmat Saeed has said that injustice is worst than "Kufr". He said that no compromise should be made on justice and every effort would be made for removing hurdles and difficulties in the way of provision of justice.
He was addressing a meeting of sessions' judges, additional sessions judges and senior civil judges of the province at Lahore High Court Sunday. Senior most Judge Omar Atta Bandial was also present on this occasion.
Chief Justice stressed that the justice system should be streamlined according to the demands of modern era under a phased programme so that problems of the litigants could be redressed at the earliest. Chief Justice said that he considers the judges of subordinate courts as his colleagues and respects them from the core of his heart so that their respect and dignity could be further enhanced.
He assured that baseless complaints and anonymous applications against them would be thrown in the wastebasket but he will not overlook the genuine complaints and strict action would be taken against them. He said that corruption would not be tolerated at all cost.
Sheikh Azmat Saeed assured the judges to decide cases correctly without any fear and they will be provided complete protection. He said that unjustified or any vindictive action would not be taken against them. He said that a policy based on justification for the postings and transfers and promotion will be formulated as per law so that right of anyone should not be usurped. He asked sessions judges to keep a vigilant eye on their subordinates and write their annual confidential reports (ACR) according to facts and performance.
Chief Justice said that lawyers are an essential part of system of justice. He advised the judges to respect the lawyers and if their decisions will be comprehensive and equitable then lawyers will have no complaint against them.
