NRO case hearing: special security arrangements made at Supreme Court

Additional Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan Sajid Mehmood Qazi has been tasked to oversee the security arrangements in the apex court during NRO case hearing beginning November 21. It has been decided that entry into courtroom No 1, where a 17-member larger bench will hear NRO case, would be allowed through special security passes.
Special security cameras have been installed in the courtrooms as well as public entry gates and reception areas of the SC building. Passes will be issued to petitioners, respondents and their counsels appearing before the court. Entry of journalists who cover Supreme Court proceedings regularly, has been allowed through passes, however, any additional demand for journalists' entry could be made to the SC' Additional Registrar.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, passes will be issued subject to seating capacity in the courtroom No 1 to those who are interested in watching court proceedings. Passes will be issued on "first-come-first-served-basis". These passes may be obtained from the office of Additional Registrar, Supreme Court whereas entry into the court building will be allowed after checking/frisking and searching of bags/purses whereas no mobile phone is allowed in the courtroom.
