The Karachi Port handled 26,565 tonnes of cargo comprising 20,956 tonnes of import cargo and 5,609 tonnes of export cargo including 1,285 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 20,956 tonnes comprised of 7,420 tonnes of containerised cargo; 496 tonne of general cargo; 4,034 tonnes of bulk cargo: 579 tonnes of wheat; 3,455 tonnes of rock phosphate and 9,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 5,609 tonnes comprised of 4,422 tonnes of containerised cargo; 300 tonnes of general cargo and 887 tonnes of cement. Two ships namely Cap George and CL Hanse Gate carrying container ship and general cargo ship sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Three container vessels viz Emirates Wasi, Mark Twain and YM Fuzhou are currently at the berths. A cement carrier namely Sea Wave expected to sail on Friday, while three ships namely Mark Twain, Chemroad Fuji and King Success with container ship, palm oil tanker and eneral cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four ships namely Chemroad Quest, DL Clover, Conti Brisbane and Ubc Cyprus with two chemical carriers, container ship and cement carrier respectively due to arrive on Friday, while three vessels viz Wan Hai-602, Patriot and Sioux Maiden carrying container ship, vehicles carrier and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 63,443 tonnes includes 17,567 tonnes of furnace oil; 1,319 tonnes of project cargo; 13,500 tonnes of palm oil; 3,339 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 8,734 tonnes of chemicals and 18,984 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 37,549 tonnes includes 1,339 tonnes of rice; 6,312 tonnes of cement and 29,898 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Five ships namely CV Pisti, CV CMA CGM Puget, CV Nicoline Maersk, MT Patriotic and MT Karachi sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while four more ships namely MT Abdul Aziz Arab, MV Alexi-1, M MT Grace and MT Baltic Winter are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels CV Pisti, CV CMA CGM Puget, CV Nicoline Maersk, MT Abdul Aziz Arab, MV Alexi-1, MV Safina-2, MT Patriotic, MT Baltic Winter, MV Iron Kalypso and MT Grace are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sunflower seeds, project cargo, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely MTM Hong Kong, SC Geoji, Ikan Tambk, Al-Khalidia and Fonthida Naree with palm oil, canola seeds, furnace oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz MT Al-Khalidia and MV Ikan Tambk carrying furnace oil and canola seeds respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-4) respectively on Friday. Two ships namely CV MSC Anafi and MV Fonthida Naree carrying containers and rice are due to arrive on Friday. As many as three containers vessels viz CV ACX Marguerite, CV CMA CGM Puget and CV Maersk Wyoming are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
