Praise to ALLAH for the great blessings and abundant graces, the creator and mastermind, for all his benefits for peace and harmony, and for our creation. Peace and blessings be upon the last of the apostles and prophets, and on his family and companions.
At the beginning of my speech I would like to convey my highest congratulations and blessings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said (may ALLAH preserve him) on the occasion of the glorious 41st National Day.
I also offer myself, and on behalf of my fellow diplomats, we would like to thank the Government and people of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in particular the Government of Sindh, on the good reception, and to His Excellency Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, the distinguished Governor of Sindh province. And His Excellency Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the distinguished Chief Minister of Sindh Province, the Honourable distinguished Ministers, and His Excellencies the honourable Members of Parliament, all Consul Generals, Honorary Consuls, businessmen, our friends in Sindh Province, and distinguished guests.
The wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said (may Allah preserve him) and proper planning have always emphasised the importance of science and knowledge, and the information technology and communication have become the main engine of development (wheel) in the third millennium. Therefore, the leadership has paid attention to create a national strategy to develop the capacity of citizens in dealing and developing e-government services. His Majesty also emphasised the attention to human resources, and provided various means to develop their performance, stimulate their creative energies and potential and improve its scientific and practical efficiency. His Majesty issued orders this year to provide 50,000 jobs for Ornani citizens seeking employment, and instructed the High Commissioner to provide a thousand scholarships for higher studies.
The policies pursued by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman during the past years have contributed to maintain the stability of the national economy in the light of economic conditions and turmoil in the prevailing international regulations. We live in a world of over lapping policies and interests. The co-operation of the Sultanate with this world comes from the supreme interests of the Sultanate as a contribution to the security and prosperity throughout the Sultanate.
The co-operation and mutuality of interests and benefits among States is of utmost importance, that we all should strive to achieve the interests of peace and harmony in the world. We in the Sultanate have set up bridges of friendships over the past years, and opened horizons of co-operation and good relations with various countries according to the solid foundations of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs and respect for good neighbourly relations, and adopt dialogue as a way to resolve all disputes between the different parties.
The bilateral relations, ancient and strong ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are excellent and have great importance to officials in Oman. And always strive to use all available means to develop them. In addition to the existence of common visions between the two countries in many domestic and international issues, add to that the presence of the Pakistani community in the Sultanate, and the presence of the Omani community in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. All these factors are channels to an open loop to reach the Pakistan. All these factors are channels to an open loop to reach the goals and objectives between the two countries, to promote investment in various fields. Finally, we can only extend our sincere thanks to the Government, and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the strenuous efforts they are making to ensure the political stability of the country.
