Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 20,501 tonnes of cargo comprising 19,057 tonnes of import cargo and 1,444 tonnes of export cargo including 456 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 19,057 tonnes comprised of 2,075 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,694 tonne of general cargo; 360 tonnes of wheat and 6,928 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 1,444 tonnes comprised of 30 tonnes of general cargo and 1,414 tonnes of cement. Seven ships namely Glen Canyon Bridge, APL Coral, Egs Tide, Rivertec, Sorrelle, Patriotic and Oslo Trader carrying two container ships, two DAP carriers, one oil tanker, one chemicals carrier and one steel carrier sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Patriotic, Chemroad Fuji, Cap George, CL Hanse Gate and Med Levant carrying two oil tankers, one container ship, one general cargo ship and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Cap George and Sea Wave with a container ship and a cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
A container ship namely Emirates Wasl due to arrive on Thursday, while ten vessels viz Mark Twain, Lara Rickmers, APL Guangzhou, Conti Brisbane, Yaran, MT Quetta, Chemroad Fuji, Miramis, DL Clover and Ubc Cyprus carrying five container ships, one crude oil tanker, one base oil tanker, two chemical carriers and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 87,026 tonnes, comprising 70,523 tonnes of import cargo and 16,503 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,323 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 70,523 tonnes includes 44,546 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,600 tonnes of palm oil; 7,182 tonnes of canola seeds and 14,195 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 16,503 tonnes includes 1,046 tonnes of rice; 7,161 tonnes of cement and 8,296 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV OOCL San Francisco sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of seven vessels CV OOCL San Francisco, MT Abdul Aziz Arab, MV Alexi-1, MV Safina-2, MT Iron Kalypso, MT Grace and MT Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, canola seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely MTM Hong Kong, SC Geoji, Ikan Tambk, Patriotic, Pisti and Nicoline Maersk with palm oil, canola seeds, chemicals and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz CV Pisti, CV CMA CGM Puget, CV Nicoline Maersk, MT Patriotic and MV Baltic Winter scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals and project cargo respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-1) respectively on Thursday.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Wyoming, MT Al-Khalidia and MV Onthida Naree carrying containers, furnace oil and rice are due to arrive on Friday. As many as two containers vessels viz CV ACX Marguerite and CV MSC Anafi are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
