New LG system could be introduced in a month: Siraj

Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani said on Saturday that new LG system could be introduced within a month as per the wishes of people, a private TV channel said. Talking to media after the inauguration ceremony of the new block in St Patrick's College here, the minister said MQM gave a document while PPP was also preparing to bring in a new LG system.
According to the channel, Durrani said the new LG system would be introduced with the help of other coalition partners - PML-F and PML-Q. Replying to a question, Durrani said that Commissionerate system is different from LG system, adding that good things of Commissionerate system would be added to the new LG system, the channel said.
