Country''s exports show 2.2 percent decline in October

The country''s exports have shown 2.2 percent decline in October 2011 as compared to last corresponding period. According to a statement issued by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Pakistan''s exports during October 2011 were valued at US $1.896 billion which was 2.2 percent lower than the level of US $1.938 billion during October 2010.
Imports during October 2011 were valued at US $3.607 billion registering a growth of 12.9 percent over the level of imports valued at US $3.196 billion in October 2010. Cumulative figure shows that Pakistan''s exports during July-October 2011-12 were US $7.899 billion, while in the corresponding period of the last year 2010-11 exports were $6.996 billion, which shows 13 percent growth. Imports during July-October 2011-12 were $14.313 billion as compared to $12.225 billion during the same period of the year 2010-11, registered a 17.1 percent growth.-PR
