Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 124,692 tonnes of cargo comprising 96,565 tonnes of import cargo and 28,127 tonnes of export cargo including 2,101 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 96,565 tonnes comprised of 53,101 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,612 tonne of general cargo; 31,387 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,908 tonnes of DAP; 38 tonnes of wheat; 17,110 tonnes of rock; 9,331 tonnes of rock phosphate and 2,465 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,127 tonnes comprised of 27,858 tonnes of containerised cargo and 269 tonnes of cement. Five ships namely CS Discovery, Northern Valance, APL Agate, Santa Belina and Eastern Power carrying four container ships and one bulk cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eelven vessels viz Santa Belina, Rio Grand Express, Hyundai General, CS Discovery, Northern Valance, APL Agate, Kition, Pitaloka, Lodestar Genesis, Fade-1 and Zin Zhou Hai carrying seven container ships, three oil tankers, one bulk cargo ship and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
A container ship namely Rio Grand Express expected to sail on Thursday, while one rock phosphate carrier namely Lilac is expected to sail on Friday. Seven vessels viz Emirates Kanako, YM Colombo, APL Sokhna, OEL Trust, Formosa Product, MT Lahore and Anjasmore carrying four container ships, one naphtha carrier, one crude oil tanker and one palm oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 36,55 tonnes, comprising 33,099 tonnes of import cargo and 3,456 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,581 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 33,099 tonnes includes 7,855 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,086 tonnes of palm oil; 11,269 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 8,889 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 3,456 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Bellini, MT Bunga Angelica and MT Quetta sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. A total number of four vessels CV CMA CGM Bellini, MV Kiran Africa, MT Bunga Angelica and MT Quetta are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, sunflower seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Pisti, Nele Marsk, Asthit Merchant, Bunga Laurel, Olympic Serenity, Safina-2 and Alexi-1 with containers, bitumen, palm oil, furnace oil, rice and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of eight vessels viz CV Nele Marsk, CV Pisti, CV APL Chille, MV Alexi-1 MT Asthit Merchant, MT Bunga Laurel, MT Olympic Serenity and MT Pitaloka carrying containers, cement, bitumen, palm oil, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-1), Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.
