Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir has said that officers and officials of Lahore Police will celebrate their Eid-ul-Azha by ensuring peaceful atmosphere for the citizens. CCPO called upon Lahore Police personnel to leave no stone unturned to serve the masses and eradicate scourge of crime from the society.
He said that Lahore Police would remain on high alert on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to ensure maintenance of law and order and to avoid any possible subversive activity in the city. CCPO said in order to achieve this objective, more than 10 thousand police officials, divisional SPs, Supervisory Police Officers, SHOs, Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors have been deputed at various sensitive points in the city, while patrolling of mobile squad have been made more effective. He said officials of Police Emergency 15 would also remain on high alert in order to take prompt action on the complaints of citizens. CCPO appealed to the religious leaders and citizens to completely cooperate with the police to make its security plan a success.
He said that a comprehensive security plan has been chalked out for Eid-ul-Azha under which more than 10 thousand police jawan would perform their duty in order to provide foolproof security on the occasion of Namaz of Eid-ul-Azha at all Mosques. He further said that police officials, equipped with metal detectors, would be deputed at mosques, Imam Barghas and other religious places. CCPO also directed to make foolproof arrangements at the entry and exit points of the city, as well as checking of suspicious persons and vehicles. CCPO said a special traffic plan has been prepared to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads during Eid holidays and additional traffic wardens have been deputed at important roads and busy areas.
Ahmad Raza Tahir also appealed to the people to extend their whole-hearted co-operation for the eradication of terrorism and inform police about criminals or suspicious elements and vehicles. Any secret information provided by any citizen will be considered as a great contribution toward the protection of city, country and the nation.
