The rupee retained the overnight levels against dollar on the currency market at the weekend in process of trading, dealers said. The rupee maintained its overnight levels in relation to dollar for buying and selling at 86.40 and 86.80, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee posted fresh gain of 47 paisa in terms of the euro for buying and selling at Rs 117.86 and Rs 118.36, they said. At the week-end, the euro held steady against the dollar ahead of a confidence vote in Greece that could set the stage for its approval of the new EU crisis plan - or a collapse of the Greek government.
Although the day was rocky in trade, at 2200 GMT - just ahead of the vote in the Greek parliament - the euro was at $1.3788, slightly lower than $1.3808 around the same time Thursday. The yen eased, with the euro was buying $107.89 yen, up from 107.82, while the dollar edged up to 78.23 yen from 78.07.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee recovered 20 paisa against dollar in Lahore currency market on Saturday. According to dealers, the dollar commenced trading at overnight rates Rs 86.30 and Rs 87.00 on buying and selling side, but declined to Rs 86.10 and Rs 86.80 on buying and selling side, respectively. However, the pound was unchanged at Rs 137.00 and Rs 138.00, respectively, dealers said.
