Chairman, Sindh National Front (SNF), Mumtaz Ali Bhutto says the rallies and public meetings of Shahbaz Sharif and Imran Khan have proved that the people of Punjab would no more tolerate corrupt rule of President Asif Ali Zardari. "I congratulate both of them and demand to join hands and take the people of Punjab to streets making Asif Zardari run away," he said in a statement here on Monday.
Referring to the Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) formed against first elected Prime Minister of country Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the SNF Chief said: "It was an alliance of all those parties who, in effect, were opposed to each other but joined hands for ousting Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD) was an alliance of same nature and in fact it was PNA, which was joined by PPP.
"If such alliance could be formed, why the PML-N and Tehreek-e-Insaf cannot join hands to get rid of present rulers," he said. Mumtaz Bhutto said the public meeting and rally organised by coalition partners in Karachi was also a big one but the participants were brought like cattle using the government machinery and all were 'spiritless'.
He said uprising of people of Punjab could prove to be an example for people of Sindh to wake-up and fight for the rights of motherland. "If the people of Sindh continue running after charity of Rs 1,000, they would continue to remain 'slaves', which is worse than that of British rulers," he contended.
