Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday demanded that local bodies' elections should be held immediately. Addressing a press conference, PTI President Lahore, Mahmoodur Rashid said the legislators have failed to address the problems faced by the people and hence the government should hold local bodies' elections. "It should be held soon after the release of new voters' list, so that the people could elect their true representatives," he added.
He said there is nothing wrong in changing political parties as along as principles are not compromised and such people cannot be labelled as a 'lota', adding that Qaid-e-Azam also changed his political party without comprising his principles. He alleged that the PML-N started lota culture in Pakistan and it is still practising lota politics.
Rashid said PTI has held a historic public meeting at Miner-e-Pakistan and a large crowd has given a verdict for a change in the country. "In-fact, they have shown no-confidence against those legislators who have come in to the assemblies through 45-percent-fake-votes. It has been decided that the city belongs to PTI and not the PML-N," he added.
He said the PTI makes a pledge of liberating people from landlords and industrialists, and for sure both the PPP and PML-N will face a defeat in the next general elections. He warned that whoever comes in the way of 'change' will perish. "Soon the PTI arrange more public meetings in other provinces and people will be victorious," he added.
