Members Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elected Yasin Azad as their president for the next year. He had a lead of 80 votes over former Justice Rasheed A Rivzi. Azad secured 940 votes, while Rizvi bagged 860 votes. Azad won from polling in Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Quetta. Rizvi won from Abbotabad, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Karachi.
According to unofficial results Azad and Rizvi secured votes, respectively 68 and 45 from Peshawar, 13 and 23 from Abbotabad, 20 and 2 from Hyderabad, 33 and 18 from Bahawalpur, 57 and 50 from Multan, 59 and 32 from Quetta, 450 and 422 from Lahore, 138 and 147 from Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and 102 and 121 from Karachi.
Supporters of Azad including outgoing SCBA president Asma Jahangir, Pakistan Bar Council members Ahsan Bhoon, Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Ramazan Chaudhry celebrated his victory by dancing and chanting slogans here after receiving final unofficial results. Rizvi was fielded by Hamid Khan's led Professional Group. According to unofficial counting Aslam Zar elected as Secretary of the bar while Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry won from Lahore with a margin of 81 votes for the slot of vice president against Imrana Parveen Baloch. Returning officer Afrasiab Khan Chaudhry would issue final notification on November 02.
